Alhaji Musliu Akinsaya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has emerged National President of the National Union of Road Transport Union, NURTW from the Southwest Zone.
He was elected at the union’s Quadrennial Delegate Conference, held at its Zonal Secretariat in Osogbo, Osun State, delegates from Lagos, Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti participated in the election.
Acting National President of the union, Aliyu Issa-Ore, who monitored and observed the delegate conference, stated that the union’s constitution provided that the zone which turn it is to produce the president, elects and present such person to the National Secretariat.
Issa-Ore, who was represented by the Head of Finance, National Headquarters, Abuja, Mrs Adedamola Salam, said the southwest zone have fully complied with the constitution in electing union’s President.

While Tajudeen Agbede, was elected as union’s Vice President, Southwest , Akeem Adeosun, emerged as trustee from the zone .
In his address after taking oath of office, Oluomo urged every members to allow peace reign and emphazied his commitment to unity in the union.
Oluomo, said, “I have forgiven everyone that offended me and I wish those I offend would forgive me as well. This is our union and we must be committed to its preservation. We will not allow anyone to destroy our means of livelihood”.
