Obaseki Dissolves Cabinet.

In preparation for the November 12 handing over, of mantle of governance, Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki, has dissolved his cabinet.

Obaseki, who came into office on November 12, 2016, is expected to end his eight-year tenure on November 12, 2024 for the governor elect, Sen. Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress, APC to resume office as the new governor of the state

Obaseki dissolved the cabinet shortly after a valedictory session held at the Government House on Friday in Benin.

The state deputy governor, Godwins Omobayo, moved the motion and was seconded by the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Osilama Okuofu, for the dissolution of the State Executive Council for 2020-2024.

Speaking at the valedictory session, governor Obaseki, commended members of the council for their contributions in driving the government’s vision of making Edo great again.

He also commended citizens of the state for their support, prayers, and collaborations throughout his tenure.

Members of the cabinet, eulogized the governor for his many achievements in various sectors and commended the governor for the opportunity he gave them to serve the people of the state.

High point of the valedictory ceremony was the presentation of gifts by outgoing commissioners and Heads of Ministries Departments and Agencies, MDAs
as well as adinner in honour of the state governor.
