President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Awka, Anambra State, on Thursday, May 8, 2025, for an official visit aimed at commissioning key infrastructure projects and strengthening federal-state collaboration. The President touched down at the Chinua Achebe International Airport at approximately 12:15 PM, where he was received by Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and other state officials.
A highlight of President Tinubu’s visit is the inauguration of Anambra State’s first-ever Government House. For over three decades since the state’s creation, Anambra has operated without a designated government house, functioning from a temporary location in Amawbia. The new facility, covering nearly 8 hectares, is poised to be the largest and most environmentally friendly state house in Nigeria.
In addition to the Government House, President Tinubu is scheduled to commission several other key infrastructure projects initiated by Governor Soludo’s administration. These include the Solution FunCity, a recreational and tourism hub; the Anambra Country Club; and the Emeka Anyaoku Centre, all of which underscore the state’s commitment to development and modernization.

Governor Soludo has expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu for his support and collaboration, highlighting the positive impact of federal-state partnerships on the state’s growth. The visit is expected to further strengthen ties between the federal government and Anambra, fostering continued progress and development.
This event underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to supporting infrastructural development across Nigeria and his recognition of Anambra’s significant strides in governance and development.
