Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has assured stakeholders of it commitment to the development of the Niger Delta region and solicited their support in moving the region forward noting that works would soon commence on the Borokiri-Okrika Bridge Project.
Executive Director Finance and Administration, EDFA, Chief Boma Iyaye, who stated this during a Stakeholders interactive Forum on Borokiri-Okrika Bridge Project in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, expressed confidence that the project would open up the development and Economy of the area being an oil and gas hub.
The EDFA explained that though the bridge construction started in twenty twelve but was terminated halfway, the project and the kaa Ataba Bridge were among legacy projects the Commission would focus on this year.

Reacting to the development, the Amayanabo of Okrika Kingdom,
Retired Air Commodore, Tamuno-Omisiki Ogube, appreciated NDDC for the project and assured the commission of the people’s support to ensure unhindered and speedy completion.
Similarly, Amayanabo of Bolo, His Royal Majesty, King Micah Achese, urged the youths in the areas to put aside their political differences and join forces together to make the project a reality.
The Monarchs admitted that the project would Boost socioeconomic activities in the locality.
If completed, the bridge would facilitate easy movement from Port Harcourt town to Eleme refinery, Nigerian Navy, Federal Ocean terminal Onne as well as Akwa Ibom State.
