The multiple lawsuits came after Akpoti-Uduaghan’s remarked during a Friday interview on Arise TV, that the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, had allegedly made sexual advances toward her both at his office in Abuja and private residence in Akwa Ibom.

Ekaette Akpabio, had in response to these claims, firmly rejected the allegations and described the senator’s accusations as “lies”, while asserting that her husband is a disciplined individual.

In seeking redress for what she described as “scandalous and salacious” comments, Ekaette Akpabio, filed a fundamental rights suit at the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court. In which she claimed that the accusations have caused her and her children “emotional and psychological abuse.

The court is being asked to issue a restraining order, preventing Akpoti-Uduaghan from making further “spiteful” statements that infringe on Ekaette’s fundamental human rights.
