Enugu, Nigeria – May 9, 2025 – Hammer Games, the pioneering African gaming company chaired by renowned entrepreneur Obi Cubana, made headlines at the Enugu Tech Festival (ETF) 2025 with the official unveiling of its newest video game, Edge of Infinity (EOI). The event, held at the prestigious Enugu International Conference Center from May 7th to 9th, attracted over 5,000 participants, entrepreneurs, creatives, and tech enthusiasts from across Nigeria and beyond.

The ETF 2025, themed “From Coal to Code,” underscored Enugu State’s ambition to evolve into a major innovation and technology hub in West Africa. Hammer Games’ strong presence at the festival was one of its most anticipated highlights, with the company’s activation area buzzing with excitement throughout the three-day event.
Edge of Infinity, a cutting-edge sci-fi space shooter game, was unveiled to an enthusiastic crowd, many of whom were seen fully immersed in gameplay, expressing excitement at the graphics, storyline, and overall experience. The game blends African mythological influences with futuristic themes and is designed to compete on a global scale while retaining a distinctly African creative identity.

In addition to Edge of Infinity, Hammer Games showcased two other titles from its growing portfolio: Warlordes and Odogwu Hunter. The company also hosted a high-energy esports tournament during the festival, offering a prize pool of ₦1 million. The tournament attracted a vibrant crowd of competitive gamers and spectators who cheered on finalists in an electrifying atmosphere.
Beyond the games, the Hammer Games booth became a key destination for networking, innovation showcases, and conversations about the future of African gaming. The activation was co-organized with Quiva Games and was described by many attendees as one of the most impressive exhibits at the festival.

The festival also featured an array of distinguished guests and thought leaders from the Nigerian tech and entertainment sectors. Among the notable personalities in attendance were Obi Cubana, Chairman of Hammer Games; Dr. Chima Amadi, the Enugu State Commissioner for Science and Technology; Akin Alabi, entrepreneur and founder of NairaBET, CEO of Zinox Group, Leo Stand Eke and CEO of Tenece, Mr Kingsley Eze . These guests participated in panels and discussions on innovation, digital creativity, and investment in Africa’s rapidly expanding tech ecosystem.
The CEO highlighted that Hammer Games is committed to reshaping the narrative around African gaming by developing content that is uniquely African in flavor but universal in appeal. According to Aronu, Nigeria’s gaming market is one of the most promising in Africa, yet local content remains underrepresented. His mission is to fill that gap by developing high-quality, culturally rich games that resonate both at home and abroad.
“We are not just building games—we are building identity,” he said. “Nigeria has over 250 ethnic groups, and each one has a story to tell. At Hammer Games, we are working to ensure those stories are told with respect, creativity, and innovation.”
