There was a massive destruction of property following a failed gas tanker transloading operation leading to a gas explosion at Tasiu Gas Plant in Sabon Wuse, Tafa Local Government Area of Niger State.
The explosion which happened on Saturday, set the gas station ablaze, burnt a nearby processing factory with grains worth millions of naira and destroyed several parked vehicles.
The incident happening barely weeks after the tragic Dikko fire disaster, which claimed over 100 lives and left many injured.

The Director General, Niger State Emergency Management Agency, NSEMA, Abdullahi Baba Arah, who confirmed the incident, blamed it on the transfer of gas from a tanker to a surface tank and said no casualties or injuries were recorded.
He said, “Ngeil grains processing factory behind the gas plant was gutted by the inferno. About 550 bags of beans and six bags of bags of soya beans were burnt in the factory.
“As of the time of filing this report, no life was lost, and the fire has been put under control.”
