There seems to be a silver lining in the horizon for staff in tertiary institutions as the Federal Government has launched a loan scheme, Tertiary Institution Staff Support Fund, TISSF, that provides eligible tertiary institution staff with up to N10 million to support their welfare and development.
The initiative, was unveiled at a high-level stakeholder meeting held in Abuja, with a view to promoting financial stability, improve the quality of life, and support career advancement for staff across Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.
The Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, Folasade Boriowo, made the revelation in a statement yesterday in Abuja.

According to the statement, TISSF was designed to enhance the welfare and professional development of academic and non-academic staff in universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
“Each academic and non-academic staff member is eligible to receive up to N10 million, capped at 33.3 per cent of their gross annual salary.”
