Drug cartels have attempted to expand their operations by taking advantage of the current protests, but National Drug Law Enforcement Agency operations have thwarted their efforts.
Femi Babafemi, the agency’s director of media and advocacy, revealed this on X.com on Sunday.
Babafemi claimed that the cartels intended to use the demonstrations as an opportunity to relocate their “markets” by air, sea, and land.
But NDLEA agents were closing in, equipped with staff, intelligence, state-of-the-art equipment, and sniffer dogs.
The drug cartels believed they could use the demonstrations to swiftly move their “markets” on land, sea, and in the air, but #ndlea_nigeria confronted them equally with manpower, intelligence, technology, and sniffer dogs, the author said.
Despite the drug cartels’ attempts to exploit the ongoing protests for their illegal activities, the vigilance and swift response of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully thwarted their efforts. The agency’s proactive measures and use of advanced resources underscore their commitment to maintaining national security and combating drug trafficking.
