The defendants were arrested over a children’s party at the Islamic High School, Bashorun , Ibadan in December 2024 which resulted in the death of at least 35 children following a stampede.

The Oyo State Government had filed eight counts bordering on murder and manslaughter against the trio over the incident.

Since their arrest, they have been remanded in jail. Arguments by their counsel to grant them bail did not materialize as the Oyo state government insisted that those involved in the tragedy must face the law.
