The #EndBadGovernance protesters on Tuesday stormed theresidence of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to demonstrate against the hike in the cost of living in the country.
The protesters, in their large numbers, were reciting the old national anthem, chanting and carrying placards with various inscriptions.
The house was guarded by heavy security personnel wielding rifles.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command has dispelled the rumour that the private residence of the Minister of the federal capital territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike was attacked by irate protesters at Ada-George, in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
Report on some social media platforms went viral that the protesters stormed the sprawling residence and forced themselves in with the intention to loot the house.
When contacted, the police public relations officer, PPRO, Grace Iringe-Koko simply said “am not aware of such incident. Am very sure that nothing like that happened.
However, some of the business interests belonging to the Minister like the Hyper City, hotels have the presence of heavily armed security personnel on guard with Armored Personnel Carriers, APC, on display apparently to wade off any eventuality of infiltration by hoodlums as the #endbadgoverance protest entered it sixth day.
