A High Court seating in Rivers State, on Monday, brought to an abrupt end the tenure of the Chukwuemeka Aaron led Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, executive in the state.
The court also declared as null and void all the positions that resulted from purported controversial ward, local government and state congresses conducted by in 2024 by the pro-Wike group in PDP.

Justice Stephen Jumbo, had ruled that the so-called ward, local government and state congresses had no legal standing and were invalid from the onset.
The Monday ruling, marked another major setback for political protégés of the former governor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, following a similar judgment last year when Rivers APC Chairman Chief Tony Okocha, was also sacked by the court, voiding his party’s ward, local government and state congress.
