Anambra Governor Soludo Launches ‘Solution Lens’ to Enhance Governance Transparency...In a bold move to deepen transparency and enhance citizen participation in governance, Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has launched a digital platform known as Solution Lens.
This innovative initiative is designed to give residents direct access to real-time information about government projects, programs, and policies, making it easier for citizens to track developments across the state and hold public institutions accountable.
The official launch of Solution Lens took place in Awka on April 8, 2025. The platform, developed in partnership with the Anambra State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and the State’s ICT Agency, is part of Governor Soludo’s broader strategy to modernize public service and ensure transparent governance. According to the governor, the platform reflects his administration’s commitment to building a government that is both people-oriented and results-driven.
Solution Lens operates as an online repository of verified data, enabling users to monitor the progress of various projects by filtering through ministries, sectors, and specific regions within the state. From infrastructure development to budget implementation, the platform offers detailed insights into the status of initiatives, funding allocations, timelines, and completion rates. In essence, it empowers citizens to see precisely what their government is doing and how public funds are being used.
Speaking during the launch, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, described the initiative as a turning point in Anambra’s governance journey. She emphasized that one of Governor Soludo’s key campaign promises was to deliver a transparent administration that encourages citizen involvement at every level. She noted that Solution Lens is a concrete step toward fulfilling that promise, giving the public a tool to stay informed and engaged.

Beyond just offering information, Solution Lens has interactive features that allow residents to report irregularities, ask questions, and submit feedback directly to government agencies. This two-way communication model is expected to improve government responsiveness and strengthen public trust. It also provides a mechanism for whistleblowing and constructive criticism, which are essential ingredients in any functioning democracy.
To ensure the platform is used effectively, the state government has already trained personnel across 13 pilot Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). These officials were equipped with the skills needed to update content, respond to public inquiries, and manage data efficiently. The training sessions, conducted in February 2025, were coordinated by the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and the ICT Agency. This cross-sector collaboration is meant to guarantee that all arms of government are aligned in delivering transparent services.
Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, the Managing Director of the Anambra State ICT Agency, highlighted that Solution Lens represents a critical leap forward in digital governance. He explained that the platform centralizes government information in one accessible location, helping to streamline communication between the government and the governed. Agbata also stressed the importance of using technology to drive accountability, noting that transparency is no longer optional in modern governance.
Governor Soludo’s administration has already shown a strong commitment to reform. Since taking office, he has initiated civil service restructuring, increased salaries, and instituted anti-corruption steering committees across MDAs. These efforts, along with the adoption of electronic government procurement (e-GP), aim to build an open system where procurement and project execution are visible and fair to all stakeholders, including small businesses.
However, despite the platform’s promise, the challenge of digital access remains. A 2023 survey revealed that a significant percentage of households in rural parts of the South East, including Anambra, lack smartphones and reliable internet access. To bridge this digital divide, the government is considering deploying community ICT kiosks and partnering with religious groups, youth organizations, and local councils to extend access. Plans are also underway to conduct town hall sensitization campaigns in local languages to ensure broader inclusion.
By launching Solution Lens, Governor Soludo has taken a significant step toward building a governance model anchored in openness and citizen empowerment. The platform not only enhances transparency but also fosters a culture of accountability and civic engagement, signaling a new chapter in the relationship between the government and the people of Anambra State.
